Floyd Lee. Born during the Great Depression in Mississippi. Given away by his mother at 3 months because she couldn't afford to feed him. At 10 years of age he was put on a train to Chicago with a tag around his neck. No one was waiting for him. He never knew his real last name or any of his family. He tended to take the last name of whoever he was living with as a child. Earlier this year (2004) he, with some help, found that he had two brothers in Clarksdale, Mississipppi. Naturally, he also found out that his last name wasn't Lee. He's been a bluesman most all of his life. John Gardiner filmed a documentary about Floyd called Full Moon Lightnin'.
